Traditionally the Easter bank holiday weekend is time put aside for family gatherings and a good old fashioned home cooked meal. Customarily the Easter feast is made up of lamb, hot cross buns and plenty of chocolate, so we’ve scoured the internet to find a selection of ideas for Easter recipes you might like to try this Easter that put a slight twist on these time honoured classics.

Not a million miles away from the traditional leg of lamb, this recipe from Nourished Kitchen for roast lamb with olives, lemon and fresh oregano has a distinctly Greek influence. The beauty of this dish is its simplicity – after quickly searing the meat it’s then left to slow cook with a few select ingredients for a couple of hours, giving you plenty of time to relax with the family.
This Jamie Oliver recipe is a delicious Indian inspired dish that’s perfect for an informal gathering of family and friends - spiced lamb lollipops with korma sauce. The korma sauce requires a fair few ingredients but the cooking process is very easy and the end result is well worth the extra effort at the shops! Though not your traditional Easter Sunday roast, this is the perfect alternative which won’t disappoint.
What’s more iconic than a hot cross bun at Easter? And when it comes to dessert, this hot cross bun pudding recipe by The Pretty Blog is about as easy as can be! The combination of hot cross buns, custard and chocolate will please everyone sat around the table for sure. Shop bought hot cross buns are fine to use but if you have some spare time and fancy making your own we found a really good Jamie Oliver recipe for you to try.
