Holkham | A full house renovation
When visiting the character-filled 1960’s property for an initial kitchen survey, the Davonport designer could see that by remodelling the existing layout the clients would benefit from a larger kitchen dining room, with the perfect floorplan to incorporate a spacious utility and boot room too.
A generous-sized room, where the original kitchen once resided, is now home to the Davonport utility and boot room.
Designed in Davonport Holkham furniture (the same classic shaker style cabinetry as the kitchen) with exposed hinges and brushed brass handles, the utility room which leads to a boot room area is hand painted in Farrow and Ball Smoke Green with a lighter green tone (Card Room Green) on the walls.
The combination of greens creates a bold and stylish space, which continues the colour theme from the kitchen for a seamless interior.
“Initially we thought that having a big utility/boot room meant that we could throw the washing in and shut the door, however Davonport created the most beautiful space that it is literally our extended kitchen, and the door stays permanently open!” exclaims Mrs Hunter.
