Soho | A luxurious entertaining kitchen

Positioned off the main kitchen through a separate internal door, this spacious boot-ility room provides a functional space for managing the laundry and storing outdoor clothing in this large family home.

In contrast to the main kitchen, the clients wanted the furniture to be traditional in style, yet hand painted in the same colour (Farrow and Ball’s Hague blue) for continuity.

Designed in Davonport Holkham shaker style furniture, the room layout comprises a bank of tall wall cupboards, which house the client’s laundry appliances and other unsightly domestic equipment, a Butler sink with a generous amount of surrounding worksurface, and a bench seat with turned shaker style pegs for hanging coats and pull-out drawers for storing the children’s’ sport kits.

Above the sink run, open shelving provides additional space for plants and other decorative items, and the light stone surface helps to reflect the natural daylight from the large floor to ceiling window and door, making it a light and airy room which has space for completing tasks such as air-drying laundry and pressing laundry in.
